ENCOUNTERING THE GLORY OF GOD THROUGH WORSHIP

SIBKL Worship stands as a community of modern-day Levites, fervently dedicated to hosting God’s presence and stepping boldly into throne room worship. Our calling is to usher in a revival spirit through our music, elevating believers to heavenly realms where they can encounter God intimately. We are committed to crafting atmosphere where the Holy Spirit not only visits but resides, transforming hearts and minds. By fostering a sanctuary of throne room worship, we aim to ignite a transformative generational movement that reaches beyond our church, inspiring our nation and the world to pursue God’s glory with relentless passion.

THE PURSUIT OF GOD: A DWELLING PLACE FOR HIS PRESENCE

“I just want to be, a place for You to dwell,
A habitation here that host You well,
I’ll be the sacrifice, a living offering,
A temple consecrated for my King.”

Inhabit, Bethel Music

These lyrics from “Inhabit” reflect the cry of Psalm 132, a holy desire by King David to establish a dwelling place for God.

David’s unwavering pursuit of God is revealed in verses 3-5:
“Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house,
Or go up to the comfort of my bed;
I will not give sleep to my eyes,
Or slumber to my eyelids,
Until I find a place for the Lord,
A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Even as a King with countless responsibilities, David, prioritized God’s Presence above all else. For him, it wasn’t just about building a physical temple, it was about preparing a space where God’s Glory could reside and His people could encounter Him.

David understood God’s desire to dwell among His people. He grasped a profound truth: God, in His infinite love, yearns for intimacy and communion with His creation. This desire mirrors God’s heart throughout Scripture. From the Garden of Eden to the New Testament promise that God will dwell with His people and be their God (Revelation 21:3).

As we enter 2025, let’s embrace David’s mission of hosting God’s Presence. Like David, we are called to pursue intimacy with God and to create a dwelling place for Him here on earth.

Let us echo David’s cry in verse 8: “Arise, O Lord, to Your resting place.” May this year be marked by deep communion with Him, where His will is done on earth as it is in Heaven.

GOING DEEPER: THRONE ROOM WORSHIP

“A thousand generations falling down in worship,

To sing the song of ages to the Lamb.”

Holy Forever, Chris Tomlin

We were made to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. To worship and proclaim His glory with all of our lives, both here and beyond. This season, SIBKL Worship’s heart is centred on Throne Room worship – on worship that declares God’s worth, that calls for us to fix our eyes and hearts on Him, that pursues the beauty and intimacy of His holy presence.

Taken from Revelations 4 & 5, we get a glimpse of what is happening around the Throne of God – where God is seated, surrounded by 24 other thrones and 4 living beings at the center. From day to night, endless and eternal worship is lifted up to Him as all of Heaven declares: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is still to come.’

It is breathtaking. HE is breathtaking.

Worship in the Throne Room of God starts with beholding the One seated on the throne. I’ve always found it fascinating that “worship” comes from an old Anglo-Saxon word that means “worth-ship”; ascribing worth to something or someone. It’s a reminder that worship isn’t about us. It’s never been.

It’s about Him.

At a significant time when SIBKL is commemorating its 30th Anniversary, when many of us might be experiencing personal seasons of transition and turmoil, changes and challenges – may we continue to trust in the unchangeable and unshakeable truth of our God, turning our focus back to Him and beholding the One who deserves our praise.

Together, with the chorus of a thousand generations, in the song of ages as one people and one voice, may we do what we were born to do. Worship.

Would you join us, SIBKL? Soli Deo Gloria.

Glory to God alone.
